lets say somebody is asking you to collaborate on a Google document there are basically two things you can do one is called a an edit and one is called a comment and Im going to show you how to do each one first you need to make sure that youre in the right mode the mode of editing is up here on the right upper right hand side so you click on that and make sure that you are in the suggesting mode maybe theyve already made it so that youre by default in the suggesting mode but thats the mode that you want to be in if youre not the owner of the document but youre just a collaborator okay so lets say you want to make an edit you want to remove a word suggest removing a word or suggests adding a word or whatever it is you simply highlight lets say I wanted to suggest removing this a word and the comma in the space okay so I highlight it and I just simply press delete on my keyboard or backspace on my keyboard okay and then what I when I do that it shows up as they suggested delet

On your computer, open a document, spreadsheet, or presentation. Click the comment you want to close. In the top corner of the comment, click Resolve.
Click the comment icon at the top right (beside Share). Youll see a list of previously resolved comments in the modal box. Click the three vertical dots to the right of the comment you want to recover. Select Re-open to recover the comment.
Comments that are assigned to someone will not have a Resolve button. There will only be a checkmark to click, which will mark the comment as complete and close (delete) it. Even though it may be assigned to a certain person, anyone with Comment or higher privileges can mark it complete.
The Resolve feature is grayed out under the following conditions: The document was created in or last saved in Word 2010 or an earlier version. The document is in compatibility mode. If the document is in compatibility mode, newer Word features cannot be used.
