[Music] all right now its time to learn some tools in ms excel so Excel is not just all about functions or formulas it also has some tools that are pretty helpful when you need to process some data in your worksheet so just to repeat that mean you repeat the step so first highlight a2 all the way down to your last data do not include data or cells that you do not intend to separate then go to data text to columns and then go for the limited because I have a comma separating my data next comma is already checked by default because I already previously did this so its ready checked next destination you dont want cell e2 to start where the values will appear so instead we want it to start here at this point of the worksheet click finish and you now have the last name and the first name separated into two columns now theres another way or another method a sequel I saw a while ago and that is fixed width now on the same file Ill go to the next sheet and lets say here I want to separa

Excel should default to using the semicolon as a delimiter.
Just like delimiters, you can separate data using fixed-width data types. Unlike delimited data type, fixed width separates text using character count. This means if you have a four-lettered name, Excel will split the entire column at the fourth character.
Try it! Select the cell or column that contains the text you want to split. Select Data Text to Columns. In the Convert Text to Columns Wizard, select Delimited Next. Select the Delimiters for your data. Select Next. Select the Destination in your worksheet which is where you want the split data to appear.
Change the column width to automatically fit the contents (auto fit) Select the column or columns that you want to change. On the Home tab, in the Cells group, click Format. Under Cell Size, click AutoFit Column Width.
Using the Fixed-Width Method Click on the column letter to highlight the entire column you want to convert. On the Data tab, click on Text to Columns. Click on the Fixed width radio button. Click Next.
