hello my name is Thomas from Marslands Accountants and today Im going to be showing you how to create a new account within QuickBooks for the job retention scheme and also business rates grants. so first of all youre going to need to log in to your company Im currently on a sample company and youll be on the dashboard then youll need to go to one of two places so the first place will be the COG wheel up here and then chart of accounts or you can access this by going hovering over the accounting tab and clicking chart of accounts this will send you to the same place both times so once youve loaded into the chart accounts youll need to click on new go to other income miscellaneous income and then type in the name of your account that youre gonna add you if you have v80 youll have an option to select a VAT code for this it will be no VAT and then once youve added that youll just need to click Save and close and then the same for the job retention
