were going to do in this video is learn how to use the auto fit function in Excel 2010 if you look at this column here column 8 youll see that it has six rows each row has text in it with very links some of the text is overlapping into other columns specifically how are rows 4 5 6 each of those rows overlaps into columns b c and d and so what we want to do is auto fit that column a so that the longest a row that has the longest so the most text in it will fit within the width of column a first thing you want to do is make sure you have your Home tab selected here you also want to make sure you have column a actually highlighted which we already had highlighted and you want to come way over to the right in the sales section select the format option scroll down until you see autofit column width click that and if you look at column 8 the column has fitted itself around the row with the most content then thats it
