Minwax presents just ask Bruce I have this old nightst and I want to make it beautiful but Im pretty new at this so I figured Id just ask Bruce glad you asked Dave the first step in any project is prepare the wood now I prefer to start by sanding with number 120 grit sandpaper and I finish with Number 220 grit always sanding in the direction of the grain of the wood after that I wipe off all the dust next using a natural bristle brush I apply a liberal coat of Minwax pre-stained wood conditioner now the wood conditioner will help the wood absorb your stain evenly and will prevent the wood from turning blotchy now allow the conditioner to remain on the wood from 5 to 15 minutes then wipe off off any conditioner it doesnt absorb and now youre ready to stain the first thing I want to do is stir the can thoroughly mixing in any of the pigments that may have settled to the bottom then with a natural bristle brush Im going to work the stain into the wood now you can leave this on up to

Spray Pledge on a cloth and wipe stainless steel appliances for a brilliant shine that resists fingerprints. Remove water spots and soap scum from shower doors.
Applying a dab of common household items like mayonnaise or petroleum jelly may help remove the water stains on your wood furniture. A home cleaning classic, white vinegar can also be used to remove tough water stains.
Regular vinegar works for cleaning hard water stains, but you can also opt for the more acidic cleaning vinegar. Squirt vinegar onto the surface using a spray bottle. Allow the vinegar to sit up to 15 minutes, adding more if it begins to dry. Scrub the area using a soft brush.
If you catch this happening soon enough, you can rub out the cloudiness with a dry, soft cloth, but otherwise may damage your furniture. - DONT use Pledge on wood furniture. One last tip that we cannot stress enough is to never ever use Pledge on wood furniture.
FYI, Pledge and many other furniture polishes contain silicone, which is difficult to remove even with mineral spirits. Silicone causes fisheye if you try to refinish. Fisheye can be overcome, but it adds to the difficulty and expense of refinishing.
Use a wood cleaner or furniture polish: Start by applying a wood cleaner or furniture polish specifically designed for removing stains. Follow the instructions on the product, and apply it to the stained area. Gently rub the cleaner or polish into the stain using a soft cloth.
Buff out water stains on wood with a mild abrasive. Using a non-gel (plain white) toothpaste, baking soda paste or salt paste (adding a few drops of water to form the pastes), gently rub the mixture into the stain. Be sure to go along the grain of the wood.
I picked up both the Pledge Multi Surface Everyday Cleaner with Glade Rainshower and the Pledge Lemon Clean Furniture Spray. Both are okay to use on stainless steel along with wood, laminate, leather, marble, granite and plastic.
