End with your boilerplate Complete your release with a strong but succinct boilerplate. Clearly explain what your company does and why its stakeholders are experts in the industry. And dont forget to include contact information.
While in all likelihood a generic quote wont hurt your press release, there isnt much point in spending your time writing one if it doesnt add anything to the story (no matter what your CEO thinks). Not every press release needs a quote.
Each quote should be its own paragraph. Dont include anything else in that paragraph but the quote and its attribution. Make sure that every quote has an attribution you dont want to have a quote just floating out there with nobody saying it. Dont put two quotes one right after the other.
No period is needed after the quote. The period inside the quote signifies the end of the quote, as well as the end of the actual sentence. The only time this may differ is if the sentence itself, but not the quote, is a question.
In the United States and Canada, punctuation almost always goes inside end quotation marks. Colons and semicolons are the only two exceptions. If a quote ends a sentence, include a period before the end quotation mark. If theres an attribution after the quote, include a comma before the end quotation mark.

Dont leave quotes to the end of the release. This might be where you were told to put them but if something is important in a press release, it should come near the beginning. Leave them until the penultimate paragraph and you give the impression that they cant be terribly important.
