- Ive got some advice for photographers who are applying for photography jobs. We get, I guess between maybe two or four people inquire a week, and I can tell you the one thing that everyone does and if nothing else, dont do this and youve got some chance of standing out. This was actually brought to I guess front of mind, a couple of years ago we advertised for an Art Director and Stylist position, and obviously collected CVs. It was fascinating for such a visual position, like literally, your skill set is art directing and styling, everyones CVs were pages of words. There was literally two to three pages of words, words, words, words, words. Never really got those, literally maybe two or three people out of many, who put some pictures of their work into it. That kind of sparked it and made me think about like, I was a bit confused initially, and then over the years, more and more photographer applications and theyre all the same.
