Vacation Quota (Annual Leave) Employees in Finland are entitled to paid vacation of 2.5 days per month after a full year of employment. This comes to 5 full weeks of paid vacation, or 25 days annually.
Finland provides supports and services for families in three main areas: financial supports, which include a child benefit, housing allowance, and housing loans; child services, including healthcare, day care, preschool, public school, and free school meals; and 14 months of paid maternal and paternal leave.
Parental leave begins after maternity leave. Parental leave can be taken by either the mother or the father. Kela pays parental allowance (vanhempainraha) for 158 working days. If you receive pay during maternity, paternity or parental leave, Kela will pay a daily allowance for this time to your employer.

Parental allowance for one child is paid for 320 working days. If a child has two parents who are entitled to parental allowance, the days of parental allowance are divided equally between the parents, i.e. they will both be entitled to 160 working days.
