Rich Text Format (RTF) is a file format that lets you exchange text files between different word processors in different operating systems (OSes). For example, you can create a file in Microsoft Word and then open it in another word processor, such as Apple Pages or Google Docs.
A Rich Text Document (. rtf file) is a versatile format that allows advanced formatting to be viewed on multiple platforms. Please note that RTFs, unlike PDFs, are easily edited. Before following the steps below, make sure you have made all necessary edits and revisions to your document.
An RTF command consists of a backslash, then some characters a-z, and then an optional positive or negative integer argument. The command is then terminated either by a space, return, or linefeed (all of which are ignored), or by some character (like brace or backslash, etc.)
An RTF file consists of unformatted text, control words, control symbols, and groups. For ease of transport, a standard RTF file can consist of only 7-bit ASCII characters. (Converters that communicate with Microsoft Word for Windows or Microsoft Word for the Macintosh should expect 8-bit characters.)
Any word processing program can create a Rich Text Format file. This option is accessed through the following steps: Click on File, then Save As Click on the Save As Type drop down arrow. Choose Rich Text Format (*. rtf) from the Save As Type pull-down menu. Click Save.
An RTF file comprises a series of control words, control symbols, and groups. A control word is a sequence of letters preceded by a backslash and terminated by a space, digit, or any non-alphabetic character. Control words support the representation of the structure, formatting, and layout of document text.
1. Convert the RTF file to a text file using a word processor. To do this, first open the file in a program such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice Writer. Select the Save as command in the File menu, choose the TXT format in the drop-down menu and click Save.
xdofx:round ( number [, integer ] )? ROUND returns number rounded to integer places right of the decimal point. If integer is omitted, then number is rounded to 0 places. integer can be negative to round off digits left of the decimal point.
