Footers are located in the margin area at the bottom of a page. Headers and footers generally contain document information, such as the file name, author, date created, page numbering and the like. This information is repeated on each page and thus enables the reader to easily navigate the document.
The website footer is the section of content at the very bottom of a web page. It typically contains a copyright notice, link to a privacy policy, sitemap, logo, contact information, social media icons, and an email sign-up form. In short, a footer contains information that improves a websites overall usability.
Add a standard or customized header or footer Go to Insert Header or Footer. Choose from a list of standard headers or footers, go to the list of Header or Footer options, and select the header or footer that you want. When youre done, select Close Header and Footer or press Esc.
Double-click the header or the footer area (near the top or bottom of the page). Go to Header Footer Field. In the Field names list, Select Page, and then select OK. To change the numbering format, go to Header Footer Page Number Format Page Numbers.
To add header or footer text Choose View Page View. Choose the Text tool . Double-click where you want the header or footer to appear. From the Text menu, select font, size and style. Enter the text that should appear in each header or footer. Choose Text Frame Attributes.
On the Insert tab, in the Text group, click Header Footer. Excel displays the Page Setup dialog box. Click Custom Header or Custom Footer. Use the buttons in the Header or Footer dialog box to insert specific header and footer elements.
Use headers and footers to add a title, date, or page numbers to every page in a document.Try it! Select Insert Header or Footer. Select one of the built in designs. Type the text you want in the header or footer. Select Close Header and Footer when youre done.
Add the Title Page Footer The Title page (or the cover page) may or may not have a footer, depending on the standard you are using. For example, the APA standard requires a page number on every page (including the Title page) in the header. Therefore, you will not need anything in the footer at all.
Footers include: Name of Author (very important) Date of Publication. File Name (optional) Version Number (optional) Page Number.
