XPS also stands for XML Paper Specification, which is Microsoft's alternative to Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). The XPS format was introduced in Windows Vista and though not widely used at that time it has continued to be the preferred format in the current versions of Windows.
For Google Drive users, upload the XPS file to your Drive. Then, double-click the file to open it. Alternatively, try an online XPS-to-PDF file converter to view the content as a PDF.
The XPS (XML Paper Specification) format, developed by Microsoft, serves as a fixed-page document format, a spool file format, and a page description language (PDL) for printers.
Double-click to open the message you want to save, and on the File menu, click Save As. In the Save as dialog box, in the Folder pane, choose a folder, and then the location in that selected folder where you want to save the file.
To convert an email to a PDF, you'll first need to navigate to the Print dialog box within the specific email you want to convert. The Print dialog box might be represented by a printer icon, or might be found under additional menu options. Click Print. Select Save As PDF or Export As PDF from the Print dialog box.
You can convert an XPS document to DOCX ( see here and here ) but the DOCX will contain only the same information that was contained in the XPS - which means that there are no margins, no paragraphs, no headers, no footers, and possibly no text.
Import XPS Documents Into Word Launch Word. Go to File and Open to open a current document or select New to create a new document. Click Insert and locate the Text section. Click Object, which opens a new window. In the Object window, select the option to Create From File.
Choose PDF if you want to save your publication in a format that can be easily shared and is used by many commercial printers. Choose XPS if you want to save your publication with even greater compression than PDF format.
PDF files do not support Annotations, but XPS files are able to support it. But, this feature is limited. XPS is able to support annotations for typed text, web links, and handwritten text. Users are able to add three options into the documents.
Save a message as a PDF file Open the message you want to save, and on the File tab, click Print. From the Printer drop-down, choose Microsoft Print to PDF. Choose Print. In the Save Print Output As box, choose a folder for your PDF and enter a file name. Then choose Save.
