amazon has announced that kindles now support epub files which is great news however its technically not the truth and could mean more hassle but first let me quickly show you how you can now get epub files onto your kindle device and then after that we can talk a bit more about epub support on kindles so in order to get your epub file onto your kindle you obviously first need an epub file and if youre not sure what an epub is it just stands for electronic publication and its one of the most common electronic book formats out there amazon has their own electronic book format which is why for ages epubs havent been compatible with kindles so i have an epub file here that i want to read on my kindle and it is moby dick now in order to get this onto my kindle its really easy all i have to do is go to my email right here open a new message and then drag and drop the epub file straight into the email that will upload and then all you have to do is enter your kindle email address which

It will give you some errors that the book may have, so you can use a program like Calibre to fix it. EPUB files sent through Send to Kindle will not have library covers on a Kindle e-readers, though they will if you use Kindle for Android or iOS. There is currently no workaround for this.

Starting August 1, 2021, we will no longer support MOBI files for reflowable eBooks. Use EPUB, DOCX or KPF to publish new or update reflowable eBooks.
MOBI and AZW are now outdated. Newer software features on Kindle devices and in the Kindle app will not work for these files. Any MOBI/AZW files already in your library will still exist and will still open, but may not have all features available as mentioned above.
