the explorer copy relative path separator setting lets you configure the type of slash used when you copy a relative path in vs code this is probably most useful if youre working on windows and want to go and change the copied paths to have forward slashes instead of backward slashes so by default if you go up to a tab or over into the explorer and right click on a file and say copy relative path vs code is going to use the slash dial so if i just go paste that path that i just copied its going to use the slash style from whatever operating system youre on so because im on windows in this case its using backwards slashes if youre on mac os or linux its going to use forward slashes instead now some frameworks are going to expect forward slashes so like these import paths here for example we are using forward slashes even though were on windows so thats why you might want to go and change this behavior and we can actually use this setting to override the path separator thats g
