The FIND function in Excel is used to return the position of a specific character or substring within a text string. The first 2 arguments are required, the last one is optional. Findtext - the character or substring you want to find. Withintext - the text string to be searched within.
To get text following a specific character, you use a slightly different approach: get the position of the character with either SEARCH or FIND, subtract that number from the total string length returned by the LEN function, and extract that many characters from the end of the string.
If you want to extract the last n characters, like the last 3 characters, type this formula = RIGHT(E1, 3).
