hi this is Doug a bird from carlson software and today were going to talk about custom attributes I talked about custom attributes in this lesson what Im talking about is the ones you see and feel the finish that you may or may have not paid any attention to so if I open up field to finish and take a look at a code table any code table you will see a typical setup in this case its an FES which stands for a flared end section youve selected a symbol called FES which just brings in that little trapezoid shaped symbol so what do I want to focus on is this button right here it says custom attributes and if youve ever bought to click on that you will see this category and what were going to do basically the way this works is we going to create a block another block a minute the can have or not have a symbol associated with it but what well have is attributes set in that block each one will have a tag and whats that tag on that attribute they will then be able to assign values for it

PDF. A document has attributes or fields associated with it. Fields of a document are the properties of a document or what is contained within the structure of a document. For example, each of your documents might contain title, body text, and author.
The . Net Framework provides two types of attributes: the pre-defined attributes and custom built attributes.
The attribute is a variable inside of a class and gives more information about this class. A Parameter is a variable that gets passed into a function or method. Functions vs Methods Functions are executable code blocks in your code. A method is a function that lives inside of a class or object.
Attribute vs Parameter An attribute is a variable of any type that is declared directly in a class. A parameter is a variable defined by the function that receives a value when it is called. An attribute is used with classes and objects. A parameter is used with a function or a method.
Attributes = those variables declared outside a method in a class, a.k.a. fields; parameters = types+names of the input values a method expects; arguments = values given to a method as its -parameters when the method is called. parameter and argument are used interchangeably .
In C#, attributes are classes that inherit from the Attribute base class. Any class that inherits from Attribute can be used as a sort of tag on other pieces of code. For instance, there is an attribute called ObsoleteAttribute . This is used to signal that code is obsolete and shouldnt be used anymore.
First, declare an instance of the attribute you want to retrieve. Then, use the Attribute. GetCustomAttribute method to initialize the new attribute to the value of the attribute you want to retrieve. Once the new attribute is initialized, you can use its properties to get the values.
4 Attribute parameter types. The types of positional and named parameters for an attribute class are limited to the attribute parameter types, which are: One of the following types: bool , byte , char , double , float , int , long , sbyte , short , string , uint , ulong , ushort .
