Create static query strings with pre-defined values In your browser, navigate to the page your form is on. Then, copy the URL. Add a question mark (?) to the end of the page URL. Add the internal name of the property, followed by an equal sign and the value to auto-populate in the field.
The data is appended to the URL as a series of name/value pairs. After the URL web address has ended, we include a question mark ( ? ) followed by the name/value pairs, each one separated by an ampersand ( ). In this case, we are passing two pieces of data to the server: say , which has a value of Hi.
Lets assume that your Form has two fields - Name and Email Address - that you would like to pre-fill through URL parameters. To add a form field to the URL, we add a question mark ? after the form URL, then add the form field name, followed by an equal size = and the pre-filled value.
URL parameters include a key and a value that are separated by an equals sign (=). Multiple parameters are then separated by an ampersand (). In the example above, there are two parameters: Color with the value blue
Example: Name For example, you might already know the name of your visitor. Continuing the example, we assume the variable is called firstname . To pass values to your flow via the URL, you can simply type a question mark ? after the flow ID followed by the variable name, an equal sign = , and the value.
Compare GET vs. POST GETPOST Restrictions on data length Yes, when sending data, the GET method adds the data to the URL; and the length of a URL is limited (maximum URL length is 2048 characters) No restrictions Restrictions on data type Only ASCII characters allowed No restrictions. Binary data is also allowed7 more rows
How to Access Data From a URL Using Java Create a URLConnectionReader class. Now, create a new URL object and pass the desired URL that we want to access. Now, using this url object, create a URLConnection object. Use the InputStreamReader and BufferedReader to read from the URL connection.
