To create an outline in Pages: Open a Pages document and click the Outline button on the toolbar or choose View, Show Document Outline. Start typing each heading. To create a new heading at the same level, press Return.
Identify your topic or thesis statement. Decide what points you would like to discuss during your paper. Put your points in logical, numerical order so that each point connects back to your main point. Write possible transitions between paragraphs.
Autofill cells Drag the handle over the cells where you want to add the content. Any data, cell format, formula, or fill associated with the selected cells is added, but comments arent. Autofilling overwrites existing data with the content youre adding.
In the Format sidebar, click the disclosure arrow next to Background. Click the pop-up menu below Background, then choose one of the following fill types: A color or gradient designed to go with the template: Click the Background pop-up menu and choose Color Fill.
Select the text where you want to add the border or rule. In the Format sidebar, click the Layout button near the top. Click the line type pop-up menu in the Paragraph Borders controls, then choose a line style. A rule appears above each paragraph you selected.
To create an outline: Place your thesis statement at the beginning. List the major points that support your thesis. Label them in Roman numerals (I, II, III, etc.). List supporting ideas or arguments for each major point. If applicable, continue to sub-divide each supporting idea until your outline is fully developed.
Fill with an image Click a shape or text box to select it, or select multiple objects. In the Format sidebar, click the Style tab. Click the disclosure arrow next to Fill, then click the Fill pop-up menu and choose Image Fill, or choose Advanced Image Fill if you want to add a tint to the image.
Go to Design Page Borders. In the Borders and Shading box, design your border: Under Setting on the left, choose the border style you want.
