pixel-based images are great for Engraving but if you want to cut scale or tidy up an image youamp;#39;ll want to convert it into a vector path in light burn select your image right click it and choose Trace image the default settings are pretty good so letamp;#39;s hit OK and take a look at this one for now I can see that itamp;#39;s captured all the dark bits like the logo and it looks really great but what if I also want to capture the light bits like our Circle perhaps so that I can set them up with different settings to the logo well we can trace it again but this time vary threshold to include the lighter grays now if we slide cutoff up it removes the darkest values like the bear and the text so that weamp;#39;ve isolated just our light area these small areas remain but I can use ignore less than to tidy them up after hitting OK we can move and resize our traces as theyamp;#39;re essentially just a normal group of paths now and of course we can set them up with different set

How do I Auto Trace an image? Its super easy. Simply import and select the sketch or photo you want to image trace and select Auto Trace in the Quick Actions tab. Our software will automatically analyze your input image and decide between Sketch or Picture in the Type picker section of the Inspector.

To do so: Click the Paths tab. With the path selected, click the filled circle at the bottom of the Paths tab to fill the path with the foreground color. Or, select the Brush or Pencil tool. Adjust the stroke settings. Then press the unfilled circle to create an even stroke along the path.
Select the image and navigate to Edit Edit Colors in the main menu, then choose one of the available recoloring options. Once done, you can open the Image Trace panel and choose Mode Color. This will ensure your traced image contains the new colors.
