Titles of full works like books or newspapers should be italicized. Titles of short works like poems, articles, short stories, or chapters should be put in quotation marks. Titles of books that form a larger body of work may be put in quotation marks if the name of the book series is italicized.
Capitalize the first and final word of the title. Capitalize nouns, pronouns, verbs, helping verbs, adjectives and adverbs within the title. Capitalize the first word that follows a colon when using title case. Do not capitalize articles located between the first and final words, such as the, a and an.
Writing tips Keep it concise and informative. Whats appropriate for titles varies greatly across disciplines. Write for your audience. Entice the reader. Incorporate important keywords. Write in sentence case.
Your headline should show readers how your review can help them solve a problem or make a decision, create a sense of urgency or scarcity, offer something different or unexpected, and be clear and specific about what your review is about.
With that said, the general rule is that italics are used for titles of books, movies, TV and radio shows, magazines, works of art, and long poems. As mentioned before, underlining is a substitute for italics when writing titles by hand.
Explanation. Generally and grammatically speaking, put titles of shorter works in quotation marks but italicize titles of longer works. For example, put a song title in quotation marks but italicize the title of the album it appears on.
Here are some tips: Be specific: Use words that accurately describe the content of the article, such as the authors name, the topic, or the main argument. Use a hook: Try to include a hook that will grab the readers attention and make them want to read more. Be concise: Keep your title short and to the point.
