How to Add Texture in Illustrator Step 1 - Create your Design. Start by creating your design that you want to apply the texture to. Step 2 - Add Black and White Texture. We will be using a black and white textured image. Step 3 - Apply Texture to Design. Step 4 - Add Final Edits to Textured Image.
Applying a Texture Ensure the fill swatch is active in the Tools bar, and then click on a texture swatch with an object selected to apply the texture to the object.
Select elements of the artwork to stylize and choose Effects Texture Texturizer. Texturizer has four styles you can choose from the Texture drop-down menu. You can also try the other five textures in this group of effects. Adjust texture parameters with the controls on the right.
To create patterns in Illustrator, follow these six simple steps. Open Your Document as Normal. No rules here, just do what you need to do. Enter Pattern Editing Mode. Go to Object Pattern Make. Know Your Options. Create Your Pattern. Save the Swatch. Rinse and Repeat (If Needed)
Select the stamp icon to the left side of the texture image to apply one instance of the texture. Use your mouse to navigate around your 3D model and move the texture around to cover your object. Continue to click the stamp icon until youve completely covered your 3D model with the texture.
To add a fill or effect, click your shape, click Format, click the arrow next to Shape Fill or Shape Effects, and select a color, gradient, texture, or effect.
