How to change default style in Google Docs Format your document: make sure titles, headings, subtitles normal text look exactly as you need. Click on the Styles dropdown in the toolbar (with heading levels) and choose Options Save as my default styles:
For example, there are several built-in styles with Docs and Word. Bonus: If you want to save these styles as your default styles, go to the Styles dropdown menu ➡ Options ➡ Save as my default styles. From that point forward, your new documents will use these new styles.
On your computer, open a document in Google Docs. Select text with the style you want to use. Click Format Paragraph styles Normal text or Heading 1-6. All of the text in your document with the same text type, such as Heading 4 or Normal text, will be updated to match your initial selection.
Select a sentence/phrase that you want to become a heading. Select Styles from the editing menu (usually appears just before the font style and size and just after the zoom option), and then select the heading you want, such as the Heading 1 button.
Change default font in Google Docs Quick Steps Head to Google Docs Create New Document. Type anything with Default font. Highlight text Select style dropdown. Hover Normal Text Click Update normal text to match. Go to Style dropdown select Options Save as my default styles.
To switch styles, place the insertion point in the paragraph that you want to change. Click the Styles menu and choose the style that you want. Repeat this step as you move through your document. Think about the structure of your document as you choose headings.

Click on Paste Without Formatting In the dropdown menu, look for the option labeled Paste Without Formatting and click on it. This option ensures that the formatting of the copied content is preserved when pasted into your Google Docs document.
