What is Radix 64 Encoding? Radix 64 encoding allows binary data stored in octets (i.e. bytes) to be expressed as printable characters.
Radix Sort becomes less efficient when the range of the input data exceeds the number of data points. It requires more space compared to in-place sort algorithms like Quick Sort; hence, its not as space-efficient. Modifications are necessary for it to handle floating-point numbers, negative integers, and strings.
(a) Quick Sort. Due to memory constraint, you will need an in-place sorting algorithm. Hence, a sorting algorithm that is both in-place and works for floating point is Quick Sort.
The term floating point refers to the fact that the numbers radix point can float anywhere to the left, right, or between the docHub digits of the number. This position is indicated by the exponent, so floating point can be considered a form of scientific notation.
It is important to note that radix sort cannot be used to sort a data set containing non-integers (numbers with decimals).
Radix sort can be used not only with integers, but with almost any data that can be compared bitwise, like strings. The IEEE standard for floating-point numbers is designed to work with radix sort combined with a simple prepass and postpass (to flip the bits, except the sign bit, of each negative number).
