hi in this video I show you how to get a unique CSV or comma separated value list from a table so here we have a table here this is just a small table and weamp;#39;re gonna do this using a feature called power query and what we want to do is we want to take out some list of items here so we have this group item and we want to kind of list out the unique values of the regions so letamp;#39;s say for example maybe Group C item 4 you can see Group C item 4 we want to have just the unique CSV value comma separate value list of Northwest right so we have Group C item 4 thereamp;#39;s North Group C item 4 thereamp;#39;s another instance of North and we only want unique values right so we just want one instance of that we have a Group C item 4 West so if we didnamp;#39;t have power query thereamp;#39;s also another way to do this using some sorting and concatenation features in Excel but why worry it makes it just a little bit easier because if we have data that we update frequ

Method 1 On a Windows computer, open the CSV file using Notepad. Click File Save As. In the dialog window that appears - select ANSI from the Encoding field. Then click Save. Thats all! Open this new CSV file using Excel - your non-English characters should be displayed properly.
To do this: Open the . csv file in Notepad. In the File menu, click Save As. In the new window that displays, select ANSI for Encoding. Click Save. Open the file in Microsoft Excel. The characters should now display correctly.
Do this when you are saving/naming your CSV file by navigating to Tools and then Web options. Choose the encoding tab and then from the dropdown, select UTF-8. If you take care to encode your file correctly, you shouldnt run into any bumps in the road when dealing with special characters within your data.
In Excel, navigate to Data Import External Data Import Data/Import From Text and choose 65001 Unicode (UTF-8). Save your settings then re-open your file to confirm that special characters are displayed correctly.
