in this video i am gonna show you how to create a pattern fill in affinity photo or affinity designer you can see we have a simple jpg pattern file to make this happen we will go to upper option bar tonal range and click on option highlights this will select all the white area on the image now we need to invert the selection and it is very simple you can simply invert the selection by going to upper option bar and then click on invert pixel selection create a new layer hide the layer of original pattern image use paint bucket fill with the help of paint bucket tool we can fill the selected areas just with a click uncheck this option use ctrl d or if you are on mac use command d to release the selection now save this created file on your hard drive as a new image file if you require transparent background save it as png letamp;#39;s move forward create a new layer and hide all current layers now draw a rectangle or any other shape where you want to apply pattern fill on on gradient fil
