To create a filled surface, click Filled Surface on the Surfaces toolbar, or click Insert Surface Fill, set the PropertyManager options, and click OK . Set the PropertyManager options based on the type of filled surface you want to create.
Fill patterns are created by transforming the member locations out from the origin ing to the grid, the grid orientation, and the spacing between members. The sketched area and the border allowance determine which members are created. Any member whose center is within the sketch boundary will be created.
To create a fill pattern, click Fill Pattern (Features toolbar) or Insert Pattern/Mirror Fill Pattern, set the PropertyManager options, and click . Parameters control the pattern layout. You can create a sheet metal perforation-style pattern, or a pattern of concentric shapes typically used to enhance aesthetics.
To add an area hatch or solid fill: In a drawing document, select a model face, a segment of a closed sketch profile, or a region bounded by a combination of model edges and sketch entities. You can make multiple selections. Click Area Hatch/Fill (Annotation toolbar), or click Insert Annotations Area Hatch/Fill.
To edit a sketch pattern: Right-click a pattern instance and select the appropriate Edit option. If you selected Display instance count, you can double-click the instance count and change it in the graphics area.
To build a sketch driven pattern: Open a sketch on the face of a part. Create a seed feature on the model. Click Point or Tools Sketch Entity Point , and add multiple sketch points to represent the pattern you want to create, based on the seed feature. Close the sketch.
