Change margins Select Layout Margins.  Select the margin configuration you want, or select Custom Margins to define your own margins.
Document Margins Click on the Page Layout tab. Click on Margins to see a drop-down menu. Make sure Normal is selected.
Set the default margin Click PAGE LAYOUT Margins. At the bottom, click Custom Margins. In the Page Setup box, enter new values for the margins. Click the Set As Default button.
Adjusting margins in Page Setup Click File and select Page Setup. Now you can change each margin by clicking a box and typing a new measurement. Click OK when youre done. The default margins are set to one inch on each side.
