so what form do you fill out a VA buddy letter on this has changed over the years you used to be able to write it on any kind of piece of paper um I dont know how long ago it changed eight years ago something like that but its VA form 21-4138 theres a newer one but I would go at the 21-4138 um the newer one I dont have the name of it right now I think its 102 996 or something like that thats a sworn declaration you could use that form but dont need to a buddy letter is fine and youre going to fill it out and make sure that if youre filling it out as a personal statement you fill it out entirely and you sign and date it if you dont sign and date it um theyre not even going to look at it um same thing for your buddy if your buddy you know your your spouse or your your battle buddy or your adult child or your parent or whatever they fill it out they have to sign and date it for it to be valid its like this with everything pretty much all forms dbqs independent medical opinions
