Hi everyone, Steve Patterson here from Photoshop Essentials. In this video, I show you how easy it is to fill a shape with an image in Photoshop. This is an update to my original video from way back in 2017. And this time, I show you a couple of ways to speed things up, including a faster way to draw your shape, and how to open your image as a layer in the same document as your shape. And at the end, Ill show you how to remove the background and how to save the file so you can add your shape and the image inside it to any background you like. To follow along, youll want to be using Photoshop 2022 or later. Lets get started! Well start by creating a new document. If youre on the Home Screen, click the New file button. Or you can go up to the File menu and choose New. Either way opens the New Document dialog box. For this tutorial, Ill create a square-shaped document by setting both the width and the height to 2000 pixels. Ill set the Resolution to 300 pixels per inch, and Ill le

To fill an image in CSS without stretching it, we can use the object-fit property along with the width and height properties. The object-fit: cover property ensures that the image covers the entire container without stretching it.
The Solution The object-fit property can be set with one of five values; the two commonly used values when you want to retain an images aspect ratio are contain and cover. If you set the value to contain, the image will fill the width and height of the container and maintain its aspect ratio.
Chapter Summary Use the HTML element to define an image. Use the HTML src attribute to define the URL of the image. Use the HTML alt attribute to define an alternate text for an image, if it cannot be displayed.
By setting the max-width at 100%, the image will now fit to the full width of the container regardless of how narrow or wide the screen is. That said, in order to prevent image distortion, youll need to set the height to auto. This way, the image will never exceed its original dimensions.
To fix this, we can use the object-fit CSS property on the element to determine how the image should be resized to fill its container. The object-fit property can be set with one of five values; the two commonly used values when you want to retain an images aspect ratio are contain and cover.
So to add images, we use the inline element. Through this HTML element, we will only be able to add the image, source, and link. Then with the help of CSS, we will mention the proportions and other needed styles of the image.
One of the things that CSS can be used to do is change the color of images. This can be done by using the color property. The color property can be used to specify the color of text, backgrounds, and images. The value of the color property can be a hexadecimal color code, a named color, or an RGB value.
The object-fit: cover property can be used with an img element to achieve a similar effect. This property ensures that the image fills its container without distortion.
