Obtaining Permissions to Reuse If the image you want to include in your work does not have a Creative Commons license or is not in the public domain, you should contact the copyright holder to get permission to use their work, especially if your work is going to be published for commercial purposes.
Can you put pictures in a research paper. A lot of people ask themselves when writing a research paper Can I include pictures in a research paper? Of course, yes. Another traditional way of presenting experimental data in a scientific publication is their graphic representation.
It can include diagrams, graphs, charts or images, but does not have to. It can also include references formatted ing to the disciplinary mode of citation.
There are two ways to organize your images: either place them in your text next to the paragraph where you discuss them (Figure 1), or put them all together at the end of the essay (Figure 2). Images always need captions. Captions should do two things; label the image and tell us the images source.
Many scholarly publications are enhanced with images, ranging from reproductions of fine art to graphs showing the results of scientific research. Including images in books and articles can complement the text, visually demonstrate the authors analysis, and engage the reader.
Click the location in your document where you want to insert a picture. On the Insert tab, click Pictures. Select the option you want to use for inserting pictures. The Photo Browser option helps you browse through existing photo sets on your computer, such as photos in iPhoto or Photo Booth.
You need to acknowledge the author of the image. Read the terms and conditions of the CC license to see whats permitted and what requires further permission. CC licenses are irrevocable, so you can use the image under the license as long as you need to.
Images Do not underestimate a professors love of pictures. If you insert figures/images into your research proposal that maybe show what you intend to do, that give sample data, that shows analysis technique, that exposes background material, then your professor will be more inclined to mark your work more highly.
