make sure youamp;#39;re using headings in your Google document this not only makes your document more accessible for screen readers it also helps populate the document outline so notice in my document Iamp;#39;m going to change this style up here from normal text to title and here Iamp;#39;m going to change it from normal text to subtitle and coming down I have these headings I want to do heading 1 and a subheading of heading 2 and then over here on the left it says show document outline and you can see that the headings have automatically populated those sections and when I click on it it jumps to that section

By default, headers and footers are the same on every page. But if you want them to be different, Google Docs gives you several choices. Click Options in the header banner or footer banner and then click Header format or Footer format.
You can use a standard option in Google Docs to apply the new format to all similar styles, e.g. to all headings: Right-click the text with the style you want to alter in the document, e.g. Heading 1. Pick Format options Select all matching text. This way you automatically select all occurrences of Heading 1.
On your computer, open a document in Google Docs. Select text with the style you want to use. Update Heading to match. All of the text in your document with the same text type, such as Heading 4 or Normal text, will be updated to match your initial selection.
