Use headers and footers to add a title, date, or page numbers to every page in a document. Select Insert Header or Footer. Select one of the built in designs. Type the text you want in the header or footer.
Go to Insert Header or Footer. Choose the header style you want to use. Tip: Some built-in header and footer designs include page numbers. Add or change text for the header or footer.
Go to Insert Header Footer. Excel displays the worksheet in Page Layout view. To add or edit a header or footer, select the left, center, or right header or footer text box at the top or the bottom of the worksheet page (under Header, or above Footer). Type the new header or footer text.
Adjust the Header and Footer Height Click the Page Layout tab. Click the Margins button. Select Custom Margins. Enter a new height for the header or footer. Click OK.

Click anywhere in the table. On the Home tab on the ribbon, click the down arrow next to Table and select Toggle Header Row. Click the Table Design tab Style Options Header Row.
Now select the first row in the Excel workbook and click Home and then select Merge Center. Now select a color from the Fill Color list to add color to the background of the merged cells. Now the color has been added to the header. If you take a print of the Excel workbook you can see the below image on your screen.
Log headers are plotted at the top of a log and typically contain textual information (company name, date, etc.), column labels, company logos, etc. Some of the header text is static or unchanging, while some (such as a date) change from log to log.
