hey welcome to another Excel demo with Rich Kirk this video is going out to Jen requested that we do a demo on having a formula that is only in other row so this is how this donees itamp;#39;s actually a lot simpler than it might sound Iamp;#39;m going to create a formula in cell B2 before I do that if you want to pause your video and add some sample data to follow along that great so letamp;#39;s say the formula maybe a very simple one where we multiply the value in column A by 10 so Iamp;#39;ll simply do in cell B2 equals A2 multipli 10 then we use the asterisk for multiplication we donamp;#39;t need any parentheses or functions here itamp;#39;s a very straightforward multiplication uh formula of course the value in A2 is 93 mtip 10 so Jen wants to populate uh not Row three but rather row four so only rows two four six eight Etc will have this formula so what we do is we select cells B2 and B3 together first one has the formula the second one doesnamp;#39;t we double click the

Fill data automatically in worksheet cells Select one or more cells you want to use as a basis for filling additional cells. For a series like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, type 1 and 2 in the first two cells. Drag the fill handle . If needed, click Auto Fill Options. and choose the option you want.
Easy one today: you need to copy the formulas but not screw up the formatting in the cells; my method, CONTROL+C, ALT+E, S, F, ENTER; or Adam, just right-drag the formulas and then, when you let go, choose FILL WITHOUT FORMATTING.
Select the cells you want to fill, and then go to the Home tab on the Excel Ribbon. Look for the Editing group, and you should see the autofill options in buttons like Fill, Series, Formatting Only, etc.
Keyboard shortcut: You can also press Ctrl+D to fill the formula down in a column, or Ctrl+R to fill the formula to the right in a row.
Re: Fill without formatting (Microsoft 365) Open Excel File Options. In the Excel Options window, click General and uncheck Show Quick Analysis options on selection located under User Interface options. Click OK. Once done, restart the Excel app and check if the Autofill icon will show up correctly.
For prevent overwriting the existing cell formatting, drag the fill handle as demonstrated above, release it, click the Auto Fill Options drop-down menu, and select Fill Without Formatting.
The shortcut is to copy the cell in which your source formula is by pressing Ctrl + C, then go to the destination cell, and press Alt + H, then press V and then F. There you go, cell formulas copied without changing the formatting of the destination cells.
The shortcut keys to AutoFit the column-width is Alt+H+O+I, and to AutoFit the row-height is Alt+H+O+A, where the Home tab opens with the Alt+H, the Format menu opens when the O is pressed, and the I and A is for column-width and the row-height, respectively.
