AutoFill Formulas Click and hold on the fill handle and drag to the right (or down) to fill in the other cells. Excel automatically adjusts the formula for the row it is now on (so, in the example at right, Februarys total formula would read =SUM(B3:F3) and so on.
Move your cursor to the column to the left of your column that contains the formula you want to fill (in this case column D) Press CMD+DOWN ARROW on the Mac or CTRL+DOWN ARROW on the PC and youll most likely go to the last row of the data set (column D in this case) since the data should be contiguous.
Keyboard shortcut: You can also press Ctrl+D to fill the formula down in a column, or Ctrl+R to fill the formula to the right in a row.
Double-click the fill handle. This will automatically copy the formula down to the end of your data, matching the rows in adjacent columns. Scroll down to the bottom of your data to check if the formula has been copied correctly.
You can also select cells in a row or column by selecting the first cell and then pressing CTRL+SHIFT+ARROW key (RIGHT ARROW or LEFT ARROW for rows, UP ARROW or DOWN ARROW for columns). Note: If the row or column contains data, CTRL+SHIFT+ARROW key selects the row or column to the last used cell.

Simply do the following: Select the cell with the formula and the adjacent cells you want to fill. Click Home Fill, and choose either Down, Right, Up, or Left. Keyboard shortcut: You can also press Ctrl+D to fill the formula down in a column, or Ctrl+R to fill the formula to the right in a row.
Fill data automatically in worksheet cells Select one or more cells you want to use as a basis for filling additional cells. For a series like 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, type 1 and 2 in the first two cells. Drag the fill handle . If needed, click Auto Fill Options. and choose the option you want.
