The problem here is that these suggestions can come from several different places. Im going to show you how to clear up one of them, and tell you about the other two. First, the most common culprit? Show, hide, and view the Bcc (blind carbon copy) field Create a new email message or reply to or forward an existing message. If the message youre composing opens in a new window, select Options Bcc. In the Bcc box, add recipients, compose the message, and choose Send when done.
If you are sending out an original email that is important for many people to see, but you dont want everyone to receive unnecessary replies or personal questions, Bcc is perfect. Those Bccd on an email will see the first email, but will not receive the replies of anyone else.
Enable the AutoComplete feature On the File menu, select Options. Select the Mail tab. Scroll approximately halfway down until you see Send messages. Make sure that the Use Auto-Complete List to suggest names when typing in the To, Cc, and Bcc lines box is checked.
On the Home tab, click New Email. In the To: field, type the first three characters of the cached name to trigger the AutoComplete feature. Highlight the name or email address by hovering over it or using the Down Arrow key. Press Delete to remove the AutoComplete entry.
BCC is an acronym for blind carbon copy. People typically use BCC to send the emails carbon copy to multiple recipients, except each recipient cant see who is on the list of other recipients. People use BCC to send an email to many recipients but want to ensure everyones privacy.
For security and privacy reasons, it is best to use the Blind Carbon Copy (BCC) feature when sending an email message to a large number of people. When you place email addresses in the BCC field of a message, those addresses are invisible to the recipients of the email.
Can I use BCC to send mass emails? Yes. You can use BCC to send mass emails by putting multiple recipients in the To: field and using BCC to hide them from each others inboxes so they dont know theyre all receiving the same message.
