hi Iamp;#39;m Natasha and in this video weamp;#39;re going to go through both of the pte writing tasks they are summarize written text and write essay first Iamp;#39;ll explain the tasks and then youamp;#39;ll attempt them yourself then Iamp;#39;ll show you some model answers you ready letamp;#39;s start with the summarize written text task so this is what it looks like on test day youamp;#39;ll see up to 300 words of text your job is to summarize that text down into a single sentence thatamp;#39;s right you need to reduce all of that text down into one sentence the sentence can be between five and 75 words but we recommend that you write about 30 to 40 words so that you can capture the main idea and control the grammar as I mentioned you get 10 minutes to complete this task so you should spend about 3 minutes reading the text carefully and taking notes if you want you should then spend about 4 minutes writing and rewriting your sentence and then you should spend 3 minutes chec

to write the necessary information on an official document: to fill in a form/questionnaire. I had to fill in this really complicated form.
For example, if a writer is trying to describe a character as mysterious they may include these details, The gentleman had piercing dark eyes, long untamed hair, and a scar above his left eyebrow. These details paint a picture that the reader can see in her mind and contribute to a deeper characterization.
Ways to Expand ( Improve) an Essay Ask how and why questions. Add (more) concrete examples and evidence. Expand the introduction and/or conclusion. Add a sentence or two at the end of each paragraph summarizing (and/or refuting) the arguments presented in that paragraph.
Each of these will cause students to write additional sentences, thus adding more meat to their writing. Add description. Descriptive details often include the five senses. Add vocabulary. Add proof. Add voices. Add explanation. Add importance.
Here are ten ways to show rather than tell: Favour strong verbs over adverbs. Evoke mood with atmospheric detail. Describe body language. Include anecdotes to reveal the nature of a characters past. Utilise dialogue for exposition. Use setting-specific physical details and references to historical events.
The aim of descriptive writing is to help the reader visualize, in detail, a character, event, place, or all of these things at once. The author might describe the scene in terms of all five senses. Descriptive writing allows the writer a great deal more artistic freedom than expository writing does.
Adding details to your writing is as simple as the rule show, dont tell. Just remember to use concrete descriptions, the active voice, and monitor your sentence rhythm. Still worried about the amount of detail in your writing? Use ProWritingAid to check your work and make any changes.
