Text-based documents should contain a CC marker a graphic or line of text stating the license wherever a copyright notice would go, such as in a footer or on a cover page. For documents containing images, markers should ideally include the CC icons and full URL to the license.
There are only four simple components you need to include: The copyright symbol or the word copyright The name of the copyright owner or author of the work. The year the content was published, which can be different from the year of creation.
Make sure to name the specific CC license the material is under and link to it, eg. Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 License with a link to . Dont just say the material is Creative Commons, because that says nothing about how the material can actually be used.
Registering a claim to copyright via eCO involves three steps in the following order: Complete an application. Pay the associated fee (Pay online with a credit/debit card or ACH transfer via Pay.gov, or with a deposit account) Submit your work.
Creative Commons licenses allow copyright holders to retain the copyright to their works while giving the public permission to use those works under certain conditions.
Attributions should include: Any copyright notice supplied by the licensor. The licensor(s) name(s) The title of the work (not the website) The URL for the work (for online material) The type of Creative Commons license and its specific URL.
