What is a PSD file? PSD stands for Photoshop Document, which is an image format that supports layers of graphics in a single file. It is mostly used for working with layers of graphics and saving the projects that can extend up to 2 gigabytes in file size.
How to Fill in Photoshop Open the image file you want to edit. Duplicate the background layer on the Layers panel. Select the Quick Selection tool. Select the area you want to fill in your image. Go to the Edit tab. Click Fill. Select Color from the Contents menu.
How to use Generative Fill in Photoshop. Use the Selection Brush tool, or any other selection tool, to select an object or area in your image. Write a prompt describing the object or scene you want to generate in the text-entry prompt box. Click Generate.
To make a selection in your image, you can use the select subject tool (1), any of the marquee or lasso tools (2), and the object selection, quick selection, or the magic wand tool (3). The selection appears with the marching ants (4) around it, then reveals the generative fill tools in the taskbar (5).
If Generative Fill is not showing up in Photoshop, make sure you have the latest version of docHub Photoshop installed and added to your taskbar. The Generative Fill Tool is only available in Photoshop 2024 and beyond, so make sure youve updated the app through the Creative Cloud or update menu in the application.
