The online version of Word does not have the option to enable a Developer tab, and there is no way to create checklists. There is an Android version of Word you can find on Google Play, but it doesnt support Developer options either -- and Microsoft dropped Chromebook support for its Android Word app in late 2021.
Position your cursor where you want to place the checkbox in the document. Get back to the Developer tab and click on the Check Box Content Control button. You will see a checkbox appear wherever your cursor is placed. To mark a checkbox, click on it and add an X.
Lock the text and controls to prevent changes Select the list and checkboxes. Go to Developer Group Group. To unlock the list, select the list and choose Group Ungroup.
For Windows and Mac PC users In the Word Options window, select Customize Ribbon. On the right side, under Main Tabs, find and check the Developer Box. In this group, click on the Checkbox Content Control. Choose Symbol, select a font like Wingdings, and thenselect a checkbox-like symbol.
You can check this by right-clicking on the checkbox content control and selecting Properties. In the Content Control Properties dialog box, make sure that the Content control cannot be deleted and Contents cannot be edited options are not selected. Check if the checkbox content control is set up properly.
