EveryBelgian citizen and resident living officially in Belgium, has an electronic identity card or eID. You collected your eID personally and can only use it in combination with your personal PIN. Logging in with your eID is the most secure way to consult the governments online services. Say that you want to log on to the MyBelgium portal with the connected card reader. You simply select log in with eID card reader. To log in you need your eID and your PIN, a card reader and a PC with installed eID software. Connect your card reader to your PC. Only then insert your eID in the card reader and click on log in. Select your certificate and fill in your PIN. The click on OK. You are now logged in securely to MyBelgium. You can now use all other online government services that are encrypted with this key without having to log in again. CSAM, your secure access point to the governments online services!
