Hi Everyone! Iamp;#39;m Sharon Smith. In this video Iamp;#39;m going to show you how to auto populate repeating text in Word. Iamp;#39;ll show you how to set up your letter or contract documents in Word using bookmarks and cross-references so that you can automatically repeat text, like a name, throughout your document. By using bookmarks and cross-references you avoid having to use form fields with REF field code which require you to restrict editing and protect your document, which you may not want to do if your document is not a form. So letamp;#39;s take a look at how to simplify your letters in contracts by inserting auto repeating text. Here we have an offer letter template and I have it zoomed out so I can show you what weamp;#39;re working with. And highlighted in yellow are the areas that I want to bookmark, or those are the initial places where Iamp;#39;m going to insert text that I want repeated somewhere else in the document, and so I have

Select Edit Insert Bates Numbering and select Add from the drop-down list to open the Add Bates Numbers dialog box. Click Add Files. The Open dialog box appears. Select one or more files to add them to the numbering queue.
Click Edit Bates Numbering Add. Open the Nuance PDF app and click Edit from the top. In the Edit option, you need to click Bates Numbering and then click Add.
Bates numbering best practices Use the right number of digits. In Bates numbering, the number of digits in a number is often used to indicate how many pages are in a specific document set. Add extra information. Make sure each number is unique. Keep it consistent.
Here are the steps: Open the PDF file in docHub. Click on the Tools tab. Click on Edit PDF. Click on More. Select Bates Numbering from the menu. Choose the options you want for the Bates numbering. Click OK to apply the Bates numbering to the PDF documents.
But, consistent with The Bluebook, the first citation should make it very clear what is being referenced, such as (Bates Jones000001) or (Bates d123-002), and subsequent consecutive cites should follow the usual practice of Id. followed by the page number, such as (Id. 000017) or (Id. -017).
How to add Bates Numbering to a PDF in docHub. Open the file. Click Tools. Select Edit PDF. Choose More. Click Bates Numbering and Add. Select Output Options to customize the serial numbers. Click OK.
Bates numbering is a method of sequentially numbering pages with a reference identifier to make them easier to locate and reference. This could be as simple as sequential numbers like 0001 and 0002, or it may include alphanumeric strings (such as ABC0001 and ABC0002).
Excels TEXT function makes this easy. Heres how the formula works: BigBank is the prefix for each Bates number, and the TEXT formula with the 000000 argument tells Excel to convert the number in Column A to text and add the appropriate number of padding zeroes to get a total of 6 digits.
