adding plus six and minus a together will give minus two a binary byte representing plus six is shown here and you can see we have the sign bit if you consider this binary byte it represents plus eight if I take the twoamp;#39;s complement of this you will end up with the following and this twoamp;#39;s complement you will note has a sign bit representing the negative this is positive six and this is a twoamp;#39;s complement that represents minus eight we will now add these together zero plus zero is equal to zero one plus zero is equal to one we then continue with the addition and you can see in all cases weamp;#39;re getting the one and we come to the final one where we add zero to one and we get one which Iamp;#39;ve kept as the color red because this represents the sign bit this is minus two in twoamp;#39;s complement form

A binary attribute is a nominal attribute with only two categories or states: 0 or 1, where 0 typically means that the attribute is absent, and 1 means that it is present. Binary attributes are referred to as Boolean if the two states correspond to true and false.
The BINARY attribute is a nonstandard MySQL extension that is shorthand for specifying the binary ( bin ) collation of the column character set (or of the table default character set if no column character set is specified). In this case, comparison and sorting are based on numeric character code values.
One such example could be the attribute gender having the states male and female. A binary attribute is asymmetric if the outcomes of the states are not equally important, such as the positive and negative outcomes of a medical test for HIV.
While the CHAR and VARCHAR columns store characters and follow the rules of character sets and collations, the binary and VARBINARY columns store bytes only.
An important nominal attribute: Binary. Nominal attribute with only 2 states (0 and 1) Ordinal: Categorical (Qualitative) Values have a meaningful order (ranking) but magnitude between successive values is. not known.
A common use for BINARY is to force a character string comparison to be done byte by byte using numeric byte values rather than character by character. The BINARY operator also causes trailing spaces in comparisons to be docHub.
