If you want to read specific columns from a CSV file using the csv module, itamp;#39;s a little more complex. You define your data array that you want to put it in. Then you will open() the location and read mode amp;#39;as f:amp;#39;. And then itamp;#39;s amp;#39;for line in csv.reader()amp;#39;, passing in the file handle. So youamp;#39;re going to loop over each line and then youamp;#39;re going to do data.append(). And then you create an array and putting in each column that you want in your array. Here Iamp;#39;m going to get the first and third column. Print it out and itamp;#39;s got name and state. If you learned something, subscribe so you can learn more and Iamp;#39;ll see you in the next one.

Using a spreadsheet application like Excel, Google Sheets, or OpenOffice Calc is the easiest way to make CSV files. If you cant use any of those programs, you can use a text editor like Notepad or TextEdit. In a spreadsheet program, go to File Save As File Type CSV.
A CSV file uses , as a delimiter (thats why it is comma-separated values). You simply open a file for writing (in the language of your choice), and place a comma between each field you write on a row. If a field contains a comma, make sure to enclose the field in quotes.
Resolution Open the CSV in Notepad. (Dont use Excel to open the CSV file because the quotation marks may not be visible in Excel). On the Edit menu, select Replace. In the Find what box, type , leave the Replace with box blank, and then select Replace All. Note. Save the file, and then import it to Microsoft 365.
Formatting in Microsoft Excel Open Microsoft Excel. Click File New Workbook in Excels top toolbar. Click From Text in the Data tab. Select the desired . Click Get Data. Select the radio button next to Delimited in the Text Import Wizard. Click Next. Select the appropriate Delimiters.
Here are the rules for creating CSV files: Separate data fields with a delimiter, usually a comma. Keep each record on a separate line. Do not follow the last record in a file with a carriage return. In the first line of the file, include a header with a list of the column names in the file.
Click the Data tab, and select From Text. Find your CSV file stored on your computer, and click Open. In the Text Import Wizard window, be sure Delimited is selected as your file type. In the File origin drop down, select 65001 : Unicode (UTF-8) Check the My Data has headers box. Click the Next button.
You can format a . CSV file for import in Microsoft Excel.
