okay well welcome to this video demonstration where weamp;#39;re going to run you through some of the issues youamp;#39;ll come up against if youamp;#39;re using point-of-care instant drug screening tests and the commonest issue we have coming up with these is the faint or thin or barely visible test lines when you come in to interpret these results so what we put together for you here is a range of negative test results I know looking at this initially youamp;#39;re going to think that the test on the the right thereamp;#39;s Alba donamp;#39;t test membrane here could be a positive test result what weamp;#39;re going to draw your attention to is that even if youamp;#39;ve got very thin and very faint test lines showing the presence of a control line you must interpret these as clear negative results so here starting from the left youamp;#39;ve got an MDMA membrane with a beautiful dark control line and comparatively almost identical test line showing a clear negative result o

Some people, especially those with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), have vasovagal symptoms when they have a bowel movement. To prevent this from happening, try to keep yourself relaxed. Sit on the toilet with your head down and your legs crossed. This may help to keep your blood pressure steady.
Vasovagal syncope (vay-zoh-VAY-gul SING-kuh-pee) occurs when you faint because your body overreacts to certain triggers, such as the sight of blood or extreme emotional distress. It may also be called neurocardiogenic syncope.
The sensation you are describing is most likely due to a reflex called a vasovagal reaction. Heres what I mean. Often people need to tense their abdominal muscles and strain a bit during a bowel movement. This tends to stimulate the vagus nerve, which slows the heart rate.
Pain, nausea, fear, and straining for a bowel movement are common causes of vasovagal syncope. The problem can usually be managed with good hydration, squeezing the legs together, and lying down when symptoms start.
Tensing your arms or crossing your legs can help prevent fainting. Passively raising or propping up your legs in the air can also help. To immediately treat someone who has fainted from vasovagal syncope, help the person lie down and lift their legs up in the air.
If you recognize the signs and symptoms of a vasovagal, you can almost always stop it and prevent loss of consciousness. Best practice: give your clients anticipatory guidance so they can prevent their own vasovagal reactions! A vasovagal reaction is a reflexlike a knee jerk or a Babinski reflex.
When triggered, the vasovagal reflex causes a sudden drop in heart rate and blood pressure. As a result, you feel lightheaded, nauseous, and sweaty and may even faint (vasovagal syncope). Straining during a bowel movement, stress, seeing blood, and standing for a long time are common triggers.
Vasovagal syncope is the most common cause of fainting. It happens when the blood vessels open too wide or the heartbeat slows, causing a temporary lack of blood flow to the brain. Its generally not a dangerous condition. To prevent fainting, stay out of hot places and dont stand for long periods.
