How to Fix Word Found Unreadable Content on Mac Right-click the Word document and opt for the Properties tab. Select the General tab, uncheck the Read-only option, and save the changes by clicking Apply and OK.
What Is Unreadable Content in Word. The error may happen when your files get damaged or corrupted for some reasons, such as: 1. The Word document was not closed correctly, including files that suddenly shut down, unexpected power interruption, laptop battery exhaustion, system crash, etc.
The correct answer is watermark. A watermark is an image or text that appears behind the main text of the document. It is usually a lighter shade than the text, so you can read the document easily.
Go to Settings General. In the Appearance options, select Dark. Alternatively, you can select Auto, which will switch between Light and Dark modes based on your specified Night Shift schedule in MacOS. To turn off Dark Mode, go to Word Preferences General Personalize and select Turn off Dark Mode.

In Word, select File on the Ribbon, and then select Open. Click the Browse button and then find the Word file that has the Word found unreadable content error. Highlight the Word file and then click the small triangle arrow icon in the Open button. Click Open and Repair.
