[AUDIO LOGO] [MUSIC PLAYING] SPEAKER: Im going to show you how to use the texture reprojection tool. Using this tool, you can re project a texture from a textured model onto another model within the same component. It is mainly useful for creating textures for simplified versions of the model in a docHubly shorter amount of time than texturing from scratch. We can also use the tool to create normal and displacement maps. When the target model is a simplified version of a more detailed model, these maps can the fine details from the surface of the original model. My original model in this project is 39 million triangles. It has a texture count 4 8K textures. The model Im going to re project the texture onto has just 30,000 triangles. Firstly, Im going to unwrap the simplified model. This way, I will end up with the exact texture resolution I want after reprojection. I will select the simplified model and go to the mesh model tab and click on unwrap. I will choose the maximal te

Information about texture is transmitted from sensors in the skin and through the nerves to the somatosensory cortex, the part of the brain responsible for interpreting the sense of touch.
Texture is the main term used to define objects or concepts of a given image. Texture analysis plays an important role in computer vision cases such as object recognition, surface defect detection, pattern recognition, medical image analysis, etc.
The vibration-sensitive neurons in the hand, the PC afferents, pick up the vibrations and send these temporal patterns to the brain, he says.
Information about texture is transmitted from sensors in the skin and through the nerves to the somatosensory cortex, the part of the brain responsible for interpreting the sense of touch.
Messages, in the form of electrical impulses, constantly travel back and forth between the brain and other parts of the body. A special cell called a neuron is responsible for carrying these messages.
Afferent signals come from outside stimuli and tell your brain what they are sensing, such as temperature. Afferent neurons bring stimuli to the brain, where the signal is integrated and processed. The brain then coordinates a response via efferent signals back to the rest of the body.
Mechanoreceptors perceive sensations such as pressure, vibrations, and texture. Your brain gets an enormous amount of information about the texture of objects through your fingertips because the ridges that make up your fingerprints are full of these sensitive receptors.
Parietal lobe. The middle part of the brain, the parietal lobe helps a person identify objects and understand spatial relationships (where ones body is compared with objects around the person). The parietal lobe is also involved in interpreting pain and touch in the body.
The perception of innocuous and noxious touch sensations rely on special mechanosensitive sensory neurons that fall into two general categories; lowthreshold mechanoreceptors (LTMRs) that react to innocuous mechanical stimulation and high-threshold mechanoreceptors (HTMRs) that respond to harmful mechanical stimuli.
Touching a fine texture like velvet activates a particular subpopulation of neurons, whereas touching a rough texture like sandpaper activates another overlapping neuron population. Such a wide variety of neural responses is responsible for the richness of tactile sensation in humans and non-human primates.
