so rather than using directives in therapy I like to use questions when I give directives I think people feel talked down to they feel as though theyamp;#39;re being told what to do and theyamp;#39;re not um asked to be part of the process part of constructing you know what the solution looks like and so in order to better engage people in therapy and their own treatment I think itamp;#39;s helpful to ask people questions so thereamp;#39;s a series of questions that come from the solution focused uh therapy model and that was developed by Steven deaser and inuk kimberg and one of the questions that they developed for their model was this idea of the exception question and the acception question is you know basically the idea behind the exception question is that no problem happens all the time so rather than asking people you know uh tell me about your problems we want people to start talking about Solutions and so the what the exception question does is it begins to move people in

Some people use the terms blackout and fainting interchangeably, but they are different things. A blackout is a loss of memory. Fainting, also called passing out, is a loss of consciousness.
So perhaps when you are active and involved it is easier to manage your anxiety than when you are an observer. Another key is the setting operating theatres do have hot, bright lights and require prolonged periods of standing all of which make it more likely that your blood pressure will drop and you will faint.
Key facts. Fainting is when you suddenly lose consciousness and become unresponsive for a few seconds. Before you faint, it is common to get warning signs such as weakness, dizziness, nausea, vision changes or anxiety.
If you have symptoms of dizziness or lightheadedness without loss of consciousness, this is often called presyncope (or near-syncope); however, dizziness and lightheadedness are nonspecific symptoms that can also be caused by conditions that are unrelated to syncope (such as inner ear disorders).
You might not feel normal for a little while after you faint. You might feel depressed or fatigued for a short time. Some people even feel nauseous and may vomit. Some people have only 1 or 2 episodes of vasovagal syncope in their life.
Before fainting, you may have sweaty palms, dizziness, lightheadedness, problems seeing, or nausea. In young people, the problem usually has no serious cause, though falls related to fainting can lead to injury. But in some cases, it can be due to an underlying heart problem that is more concerning.
Stay calm. This is easier said than done, but if youre starting to feel hot, dizzy, and worried you may pass out, start taking some deep breaths. Look away from the surgical field, especially if you think the blood or other fluids are making you uneasy.
When coming round after a faint, the person often feels awful, sickly and may vomit, or even have diarrhoea. Often there is prolonged fatigue after a faint.
