Adjusting Color From the home screen, select Menu and press the OK button. You see this screen: Press the arrow buttons to select Color Adjustment and press the OK button. You see this screen: Do one of the following: To make the color darker, select +1 and press the OK button.
You can solve this issue easily by increasing the print speed. If the pages appear faded, you can increase ink saturation by decreasing the print speed or increasing the quality setting. Usually, these settings can be found in the Advanced Properties menu.
Go to Printing Preferences then Maintenance and select Print Check Pattern. Once the page has printed, you can select the appropriate cleaning option. Allow the printer to complete the cleaning cycle. If the quality has not improved, please try running the cleaning cycle 2-3 more times.
If your printouts are faint or have gaps, try these solutions: Run a nozzle check to see if any of the print head nozzles are clogged. Then clean the print head, if necessary. The ink cartridges may be old or low on ink, and you may need to replace them.
Run your printers print head cleaning utility (instructions typically found in your user manual). If the problem persists, you will need to remove the individual cartridges and ensure the contact and cable surfaces are free of ink residue.
Click the arrow next to Advanced Settings and select settings for Brightness, Contrast, Saturation, and individual color tones. You can also select a color Mode setting for printing photos and graphics. If you select the docHub RGB color mode, you can also adjust the midtone density using the Gamma setting.
A common cause of faded, faint printouts from your inkjet printer is dried ink particles causing a blockage in your printer. The printheads on an ink cartridge can be become blocked if the printer is not used for a period of time, so it is recommended to print a few pages each month to maintain the print quality.
HP printheads clog periodically as small amounts of ink or dust dry up and collect in the nozzle. Faint, streaky or spotty prints are all common signs of a clog but a simple cleaning can usually get your HP ink cartridges working again.
Unfortunately, there is no way to restore faded ink to its original state. Some chemicals are advertised to darken original inks, but they are often damaging to paper and conservators do not recommend them.
