You can solve this issue easily by increasing the print speed. If the pages appear faded, you can increase ink saturation by decreasing the print speed or increasing the quality setting. Usually, these settings can be found in the Advanced Properties menu.
Wipe clean the cartridge carriage where the cartridge connects to remove any dried ink (make sure the printer is off and unplugged). If the printhead is built into the printer, clean where the ink comes out with a damp cloth. Re- cartridges and run a print head cleaning process.
Ghost prints happen when the drum or fuser unit within your printer become faulty. Because a fault with this element wont heat the particles of the toner to a high enough temperature, the marks being made on the paper are much lighter in colour and appear more faded than typical documents.
25. What corrective action should be taken if a printer is printing faded images? Explanation: If a printer is printing faded images, it is an indication that either the toner is low or the toner cartridge is defective.
Go to Printing Preferences then Maintenance and select Print Check Pattern. Once the page has printed, you can select the appropriate cleaning option. Allow the printer to complete the cleaning cycle. If the quality has not improved, please try running the cleaning cycle 2-3 more times.
Unfortunately, there is no way to restore faded ink to its original state. Some chemicals are advertised to darken original inks, but they are often damaging to paper and conservators do not recommend them.
Ghosting is often caused by a malfunctioning imaging drum unit. When a drum unit comes to the end of its useable life cycle, it may not discharge properly, leaving behind faint traces of the previous printing job. It may also be that the drum unit is defective and is not discharging correctly between print runs.
These are the steps to take to check: Pull the print cartridge out. Look to see if there is a line on the imaging drum of the print cartridge. Replace the defective print cartridge with a new one. Place the print cartridge back in the machine. Print a test document to see if issue is resolved.
Go to Printing Preferences then Maintenance and select Print Check Pattern. Once the page has printed, you can select the appropriate cleaning option. Allow the printer to complete the cleaning cycle. If the quality has not improved, please try running the cleaning cycle 2-3 more times.
The most common reason for getting faded prints is having empty or defective toner cartridges. It is unbelievably frequent that people forget to replace their empty toner cartridges and struggle to figure out why their printers print faintly. Another common reason is that people use defective cartridges.
