Denying Access Court Orders: A parent cannot unilaterally deny the other parent access to their child unless there is a court order to that effect. Such orders are typically granted in situations where the childs safety and well-being might be at risk.
If the father is absent from his childs life for an extended period without a good reason (usually six months or more), the mother may bring a case to the court for the removal of paternal rights.
But is a refusal to co-parent a reason to lose custody of a child? The answer is it depends on whether that refusal to co-parent rises to the level of impacting the childs best interest. This includes the childs health, safety, education or general welfare.
The 4-3 schedule is a 60/40 weekly schedule where one parent cares for the kids for four days and another for three days.
Co-parents have the flexibility to design a personalized 70/30 plan that caters to their unique circumstances. One approach is to divide a 14-day period, allowing the 70% co-parent to have any ten days while the 30% co-parent takes four days.

For example, in a typical 4-3 schedule, a common 60/40 rotation, the first co-parent be with the kids Monday night, Tuesday night, Wednesday night, and Thursday night (four overnights). Then, the second co-parent picks up the children sometime on Friday.
