ACL Strengthening Walking Lunges - Lunges strengthen the thigh muscles (quadriceps). Hamstring Leans - These strengthen the muscles in the back of the thigh. Single Toe Raises - You use your toes (not one toe) while the other leg is raised by bending the knee.

Many are concerned that having their period at the same time as their surgery may cause some issues. Women who are on their period do not have any increased risk of complications, so it is perfectly safe to undergo surgery while on your period.
Dont work your quadriceps early on because this can stretch the ACL graft. Stationery bike riding or lightweight leg presses are recommended during the first three months after surgery. These exercises strengthen the quadriceps while using the hamstrings to protect the ACL graft. Dont swim or run for five months.
Dont worry Its okay if you have your period the day of your surgery or while you are in the hospital! This will not cause your surgery to be cancelled. Most likely you wont be allowed to wear a tampon while in surgery. Instead, you will be given a pad to wear.
